Hello all! Here we are on the cusp of February, and it has been an unseasonably cold and rainy winter so far. In this time of wet, cold weather, it's hard to think that Spring is just around the corner, but we in Eastern Carolina know that come March, it's time to start preparing for the new season. That means cleaning and repairing fly sheets, ordering our fly spray and preparing pastures and stable yards for the buggy wake-up call that warm weather heralds. I invite all of our members to start posting their questions and comments about fly control, mosquito management and spring time worming routines specific to our area.
Thanks to Dog Lady for braving the cold and rainy weather this past Saturday! We hauled up to New Bern to enjoy a trail ride with some "terrain" (read, hills and ditches) that we in Beaufort don't get to experience every day! It was a fun and educational time for humans and horses, getting everyone off the farm for some mid-winter frivolity. The hot meal at Franco's was a nice cap on the day while the horses enjoyed their hay and fleeces in the trailer. We'll have to make it a regular outing
Hope to see you all around the barn!
